WEIMARHAUS is located in beautiful Lake of the Ozarks area in central Missouri. We have been breeding Weimaraners for many years.
We breed for SOUND, LARGE, CALM, MANNERLY dogs. With selective breeding, the traits and genes we love and appreciate generation after generation, produce puppies with excellent inherited dispositions, trainability, and looks.
LARGE SIZE dogs are what we favor. Most of our dogs are muscular and well built, with moderate or large bone structure and frame; we like SQUARE strong HEADS.
Our dogs are CALM; naturally mannerly, and very TRAINABLE. Our dogs have a great attention-span and are wonderful with kids and other companion animals. Most of our dogs range in size: females 65-85 pounds, and males 80-95 pounds. The most classic square head is male; females have a bit lighter frame, head, and bone structure.
Everything is Genetic and Inherited. Size, Look, and Temperment are inherited, and each generation you are rewarded with more likeness in your puppies.
We never "in-breed" our dogs (breed dogs together who are related) However, we do select dogs that have similar qualities. We have been retaining our females for many years from our best dogs, and occasionally obtain a new male for breeding with similar qualities to our females, to produce OUR TYPE.
*note: All Weimaraners are not created equally. Each bloodline has a different look and type. With many breeders, a lean, long-nosed, narrow-looking dog is available. Often, this style is associated with hyperactivity and poor attention span. We do NOT breed this type. In your research, you should be aware of all your options, and determine the best type of Weimaraner for your family.
